Pluto got demoted to a dwarf last Thursday by the International Astronomical Union. Looked like many of its 2900 members were bashful, or sleepy and didn’t bother to show up for the conference, since only 300 members voted.
After yet another visit to the doc, my sneezy, sniffling self read this news and thought the whole thing rather dopey and it kinda made me grumpy, but one enterprising t-shirt seller is happy!
Okay. I’m still recuperating and under the influence of Nyquil.
I remember as a kid learning about our solar system and having a model of the sun and the nine planets. Looks like today’s kids will get the newer models reflecting the new change, and poor Pluto will have to be snapped off of the older ones.
